For creating an Ethernet-enabled, daisy chainable LED matrix that displays information from a webservice on the LEDs. Each "row" has 8 LEDs, and you can stack as many rows as you like.
If you've just got one of these boards and want to get started, check out the example code here: http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ShftOut11 and here: http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ShiftOut -- just replace the pin numbers 8, 11, and 12 in the code with pins 5,6, and 7 respectively.
I highly recommend starting with and playing around with the Arduino Blink example first so that you know how to run the Arduino software, edit the code, etc.
This code is ultimately for creating an Ethernet-enabled, daisy chainable LED matrix that displays information from a webservice on the LEDs. Each "row" has 8 LEDs, and you can stack as many rows as you like.
Intentionally kept hackable, with lots of commented-out sections and debugging information available, because everyone's environment is slightly different.
